Guys' Summertime Kimono

Here is the boy's Yukata!

When I went to the fireworks festival in Mito, I saw some Japanese guys wearing Yukata.

They looked really handsome and gallant no matter how old they are.

The design of guys' Yukata is much simpler than girls' Yukata. The simplicity of guys' Yukata might create the image of traditional
Japanese men - like Samurai, perhaps.

I always impressed by my male friends who know how to wear Yukata by himself. Not many Japanese men know how to wear
kimono these days. It is very sad fact that Japanese have gradually
lost own culture and traditions.

I believe that people wearing Yukata at the summer festivals is very important part of the traditional Japanese scenery which need to be kept alive and passed down through generations.

Girls' Summertime Kimono

Summer is the most exciting season in Japan! Why? Because there are many fun traditional festivals all over my country.

In June, many Japanese girls start looking for new Yukata, summertime kimono, at department stores. Every year, the trend and design of Yukata differ, so fashionable girls want to check the new one like they do for their bags, shoes and clothes.

Many Japanese girls are waiting for summer festivals which starts July until September to wear their new Yukata. Until the festival season, Japanese girls look for not only their Yukata, but also "Obi", which is like belts, and "Geta", which is special Flip Flop, and "Kinchaku", a small Japanese traditional bags, to match with their new Yukata.

Yukata makes girls feel like to be real princesses. Somehow, Yukata has special magic to make girls to look more cute and sexy, and many Japanese guys love to see women wearing Yukata during the summer. That is one of the reasons why Japanese women, including me???, wear Yukata at summer festivals to surprise her boyfriends or her husbands... or to attract cooool boys.

Of course, I also love to wear Yukata whenever I go to the summer festival in Japan!! Wearing Yukata is not difficult like wearing Kimono.

I purchased my new Yukata two years ago. My new Yukata has beautiful drawings of pink peony all over my navy blue Yukata. I really enjoyed to see myself wearing the Yukata. I cannot wait next summer season!
